"so so funky......." live vid, Jamie Lidell.
:VIDEO:
Jamie Lidell is one of those artists that reaches deep into a well of funk when performing live.
"Music Will Not Last" was his declaration from 2005. This vid was shot at the super venue you need to party at, Le Poisson Rouge. Jamie Lidell's throwdown rivals the live vocalist style in Detroit beatsmith Ayro. Watch.

The Word Is Out: Silhouette Brown Two!!
I'm truly excited about this follow up to the debut self-titled Silhouette Brown
on Ether Music, which combined the oh so smoothed-out soulful elemental
ingredients of the duo (our Lennon-McCartney of our thing in space and
time)---Dego & Kaidi.
Of course, while I'm often one drawn to dub track versions (i.e.
Monday's Coming), you can't help but appreciate the silky addition of
both Bembe Segue and Deborah Jordan to create the perfect vocal track,
time and time again, whether in Spread That or Whose In Charge or They
Can't Tell Us, I mean, the list goes on and on. And now, Silhouette
Brown will feature the vocals of Philly's own Lady Alma on "Two," promising to be another superb installment from this musical team
out of London (and Brooklyn!) that always delivers a soulful sound so
pleasingly familiar and accessible, yet so unique in its soulful, and
lightly broken-touched, rhythm structure and melodic composition (that 2000Black secret formula). The HMV
site is in Japanese, but I've deduced a 1/15/2010 release date for the
lucky ones in Tokyo---always getting the advanced goods. Make sure to
keep an eye out for Silhouette Brown
on My Space, where updates I'm sure will appear periodically. Lastly,
please be sure to support their music and cop it from your favorite
music retailer! **HOT NEWS (01-21-10): SILHOUETTE BROWN 2 soon to be released by 2000black at Giant Step! Let's support our music and the fam!

Technics 1200 discontinued. =(
Panasonic announces Technics production to cease in February 2010
The Technics SL-1200 and Technics SL-1210 turntables have shaped the world we know today. Featured in the London Museum of Science and Technology they are regarded as a major stepping stone in how music is played and presented.
We have just heard the sad new from Panasonic (the manufacturer of Technics) that production of the world famous Technics SL-1200 and SL-1210 DJ turntables will stop at the end of February 2010. This marks the end of an era - Technics have been the industry standard for over 35 years with this turntable and the SL-1200 is synonymous with the DJ culture. It has been released and re-released over 9 times with different models and numerous other manufacturers have tried to compete with this deck, but above all, the Technics SL-1200 & Technics SL-1210 are the undisputed number one deck in the world.![]()

Blog Numero Uno: October 9, 2009
It's funny how we sometimes appreciate the value of "something" when it's gone for a minute. After one-year on hiatus, with some encouraging (and sometimes threatening) feedback and global shout-outs from other like-minded music fanatics/supporters of our show, as well as musicians, DJs, promoters, and artists alike...Elevations Radio will be taking flight once more on the heels of what has been a historic past year for many of us.
Prospects for 2009 are brighter and better than ever...I look forward to bringing our passion and love for good music, true talent, and helping to bring up my bredren and sistas working in the fringes and underground for the love, purity and sincerity of our art form---so, prepare yourself---your time to shine has come again! It's on for 2009 and beyond----ELEVATIONS RADIO is back!Massive respect and peace with justice,
Ernesto, Probe, and Brett
