Future Visions in Function
I'm one drawn to the visually captivating aspect of design in many of the techy urban gadgets out there today in the market, or being tested in underground labs as prototypes. But for me, function must always be an integral aspect of that object (it should serve a purpose), not just the clean, minimal, and sharp curvatures that form part of the aesthetics---but something worth carrying (portable) that serves both you, and the City, by not adding to the carbon footprint and pollution. I recently found a website that features some interesting ideas that appeal to the geeky-techy side of us all, with ideas turned gadgets that appear to make anyone's innercity life a bit easier and more enjoyable. Tuvie, a website that lets you contribute ideas for our future good, is visionary in the cooperative nature of allowing us to submit our ideas/inventions on a global/universal level (via the web) so that we can all continue to push our creative minds further. One of the most recent ideas that caught my eyes---okay, get this: The Touchable (pictured below), which is a "mini-me" DJ turntable you can mix tracks with via your wireless audio system, so that you're basically walking around your crib with a turntable in the palm of one hand mixing tracks with your fingers, and sipping your mojito in the other! Since you're mixing wirelessly, you could take it anywhere you go (an undoubtedly impressive move with that new neighbor...), so long as your range allows---although, i'm not quite sure what would happen if it were to fall inside the hot tub. One last thing, it comes in white too, but i'm definitely loving the black. happy holidays...vigo![]()

Soon come...
For those of you checking us out, you gotta know by now that we do this all for the love. This music is what makes us move, think, release, relate, contribute, motivate, and all these other different things we deal with on a day to day basis. It just so happens that last night, while trying to bounce the mix, I kept getting a error. Now I'm in the process of re-installing my OS. It really was about time anyway. Still rocking 10.3 also, Ha! Anyway stay tuned cause I have a "Special Childhood Mix" for you all. Let you know where I came from. For now enjoy this semi time warp

Creative Humans: Art and Artists of our Planet
Robi Walters and Leanne Wright are a talented duo whose unique and diverse artistic portfolio spans from some of the illest album covers and t-shirts around, to their visually captivating artwork like that of the recent Bless-ed, Superimposing the Thought of Happiness, which dazzles the mind as much as it does the eyes, with its geometric shapes and explosions of sparkly-feel good that certainly makes me (or anyone) feel happy. I had the pleasure of meeting Robie and Leanne last year in upstate New York, where I discovered they had created those well-crafted, tactile 2000black t-shirts, and thankfully are continuing to spread their blessings and wadada (wadada means love) in their work---thank goodness for that! I wonder if Robie will let us use their golden radar (below) to brukcast ER into space? On the next Creative Humans, we feature the work of Brooklyn-based Ebon Heath...

Creative Humans: Art and Artists of our Planet. If you live within any of the 5 boroughs of NYC (or any major city for
that matter), you really can't help but notice the street art, urban
shapes, dimensions and colors, that fill this fluid canvas we create
everyday called metropolis. At times, in rare moments, we notice the
masterpiece we live in...the beauty of the city, its interactivity, and especially, it's art that
surrounds us---art that's often caught on iphones or stored
somewhere in our internal drive. Well, this blog is the first in a
series dedicated to those independent artists transforming the landscape through
their vision by making us stop and take notice of their artistic
creation---the end result of their passion and tenacity, as well as
their generosity, and that of all artists who share it with us fellow
humans and our future generations. Feel free to hit me up and share some of your favorite artists and visionaries, especially those you $upport! ; ) Vigo
